About Us

Paola Volleyball Club is a non-governmental organisation which was formed in July 2002 by Carmen Gauci and Tiziana Bonnici. The club aspires to promote volleyball amongst a wide spectrum of society. It provides a healthy and an encouraging environment where young athletes develop their volleyball skills to their highest level within a team. It also provides opportunities for improvement in the sport to the coaches. Besides the volleyball aspects, the club gives the opportunity to improve health and wellbeing by utilizing sports as a bridge for holistic development and socializing values.

We do not define success by championships won only but by doing our utmost to improve and grow over time.

Paola Volleyball Club always believed that a team is built and not assembled. With this in mind, it is only obvious that the nursery is given utmost importance within the club. Five years ago this project was entrusted in Tiziana Bonnici's hand. Together with several parents and senior players a good network of coaching the young ones started. The Nursery enjoys a good number of athletes aged between 6 and 11. Since the basic techniques of the game are important, individual attention is a must, hence the group is divided into groups of 4 or 5 players, each assigned with a coach to aid the young ones.

The obvious success and satisfaction is when these young ones progress through the channels and ultimately end up playing for the senior team in the future. The club boasts a good number of these young athletes that are now training with the U14 team. The training is very much a fun based program, that concentrates as well on developing the coordination skills of the young athletes. During the Summer month, training is held every Wednesday between 17:30 and 19:00, while the Winter sessions are held on Sunday mornings between 9:00 and 10:30.
